Help identifying straight razor?

Hello,

Quick introduction, I am new to straight razor shaving, but have been DE wet shaving for past four years. Bad luck compelled me to use my straight razor when I misplaced my Merkur DE razor. Luckily, my wife purchased a straight razor kit for me three years ago from Classic Shaving .com. Now I'm about 8 - 10 shaves into using my straight razor. I'm stumbling along with the straight shaving and find this website a major help.

My question is whether someone can help me identify the straight razor I have? I've attached two images. It appears to be the same razor Classic Shaving uses for their Thiers straight razor link. Any guesses? Sorry for the large images, but only ones I had.

thanks in advance! With so much help on this site, I'm enjoying using my straight razor. Looking forward to learning more about maintaining my razor's edge and honing!

-John

Yep, looks like a straight razor.

I'm no expert but I don't think it's a Thiers, looks good though, whatever it turns out to be. Thiers straight razors generally have a crown on them. I can't quite make out on my little monitor, but yours loks to be some sot of animal?

So I posed the same question to Classic Shaving and here's their response. Can anyone share some insight on the LeGrelot razors. I've seen this puma/jaguar design called a Le Jaguar: "Hello John,

The razor is a Thiers-Issard LeGrelot. the LeGrelot razors had been made using the vintage blanks from other companies, the one shown is a Puma. The LeGrelot was a limited edition razor as there was a limited number of vintage blanks available. These have become rather sought after razors.

Thank You,
JS~

Yes, that is a Le Jaguar.

"The "Le Grelot" blanks were created by a competitor of Thiers Issard which stopped producing straight razors in the early 1980's. The blanks were made for companies such as Jaguar razors, Zenit - Royal Canada and the Widerstrahl (for Solingen).. Thiers Issard acquired a limited volume of these finely crafted old blanks " from the interwebs
