Helen Liebert For Men Only???

Helen Liebert was a popular milliner and designer in NYC in the 1940s - 1960s. Her cologne "For Men Only" is referenced in an ad in the LA Times in 1964 (for-pay-only access to the paper's archives - I passed). This 12 oz. bottle of cologne was included in a lot of vintage colognes and shaving soaps I recently acquired:

The bottle is sewn into the blue cloth wrapper - fits in with Liebert's main gig, I guess....

It is a marvelous floral! A very nice scent... has anyone here heard of this?

Never. Love the label, tho. Classic.

FWIW, I'd happily buy a decant of the stuff from you. Would love to sample it!

Just found when looking for posts about this scent. I know it well. It was what my father always wore. I was testing candle and soap scents and came across the main note - Palo Santo. It immediately brought back memories of my dad, who died when I was 12. It was a unique scent and in Seattle was only available at a select "gentlemen's" store. And now Perfume Revival offers a knockoff called For Men.

If you are still around and see this, I hope you enjoyed your vintage find.

Nevermind. My scent memory tricked me. My dad did wear For Men Only. But I just realized the Palo Santo I just recognized wasn't FMO - it was another men's cologne, and from the '70s. Never figured out what it was and it wasn't one of those iconic frags. But it was always immediately recognizable. I think my doctor wore it, and maybe that's why I think of it on my dad.
