I searched the forums and didn't find anything addressing this.
Head shaving requires different grips and techniques than face shaving, especially behind the head.
Here's terrible iPhone pic of my ATG / touch up grip that I use for the back of my head:
The grip was easy and intuitive to find, but having my thumb in the control position made it very easy to apply too much pressure and irritate my scalp.
At first I moved towards the head - this made the problem worse, so I moved back towards the tip of the handle (as pictured), and began to wrap my index finger over the tip of the handle. This gives me great control of angle and has minimized my tendency to apply pressure.
Again, this is specific to the back of my head for ATG South to North passes.
I use another grip for the sides and upper quarters of my head, but I couldn't get a decent picture of it this morning, so I'll have to get it later.
