Has Mad Men influenced you?

I know there are a lot of fans of the show on here and just wondered if in your real life it has affected you?

Do you now buy a different style of clothing similar to what is worn on the show? has your choice of hairstyle changed? Do you buy more accessories like work bags & umbrellas? Does it make you smoke/drink more?!

For me I cant say that it affected the type of clothes or shoes I buy but it definitely has made me get my haircut more frequently. In an effort to have a more sharper neckline and so that its tidier & shorter more frequently around the temples.

I have cleaned up my look but that is because it is time for me to grow up and start looking like an adult.

Honestly, I have changed my hairstyle going with a side-part like Mr.Draper. Other than that, I have always enjoyed Old Fashioneds, Well-tailored suits, and most things retro.

me too!! lol at least trying more canadian whisky, also noticed I started to mix more drinks/cocktails after watching too. Always fun to watch mad men drinking a martini for some reason (though it should really be a gibson)

I have started to get my hair cut more often and have been working on finding a good barber.

I have not watched the show at all. The only influence it has had on me is to see the advertising for it. I do recognize the retro vibe, though. I am old enough to have seen part of that era, so it resonates a bit.

Yes, don is a troubled soul with a lot of baggage, but he has a truck load of syle and some great lines. The best drama for many years.

Oh don't get me wrong, I have seen every episode. It's good stuff.

Don is just not who I aspire to be like in life.

The show has only influenced me to dress like an adult and not take impressions I make upon people too lightly. Granted, I didn't act like a dirt bag before Mad Men, but I take a few extra steps to be more polite.

Quick observation: Dressing up a little when travelling makes a big difference in how people treat you, in my opinion.
