The Metropolitan Opera is doing live broadcasts in HD to several movie theaters around the country for Saturday matinees this season, and I was thinking about heading out to see Bellini's I Puritani with Anna Netrebko tomorrow. Did anyone here go to the first one, The Magic Flute, in December? I was just wondering what it was like before trekking an hour to the closest theater and spending $18 per ticket. Does it sound good in the movie theater speakers? I think it could be fun, especially the surrealism of eating popcorn during an opera... Sorry if this thread should be in the Barber Shop, but I think opera counts as a "gentlemanly pursuit."
