Has anyone made their own pen?

When I was really into surf fishing I got a little into turning my own wood plugs. In a catalog they had pen blanks and other bits to make pens with. Ever since wandering into the nib I have had a few ideas of pen designs in my head and have been trying to figure out how to get them from my jumbled mind to my hand.

So how many of you have tried to make their own pens? Even if it was from a pen blank or a totally made up design?

One of many that I've turned. Get most of my parts from Penn State Industries but other suppliers are available. I also turn my own brush handles. Badger hair knots are also available from Penn.

Nice job, actually Penn State was the catalog I was kinda talking about. I actually have some turning blanks 1 1/2-2" x 12" I believe I will never use, I am actually thinking about trading them or selling them in the b/s/t.
