Has anyone ever put a size limit to their den?

Alright,
has anyone ever tried to put a limit on the amount of items or brands in their den?

I have and here it is:

Creams - 0
Soaps - 5 brands
Brushes - 7
DE Razors - 14
Straights - 14
Aftershaves -14​

Disclaimer: I may have a few of one brand of the aftershaves and soaps

I have found a number of razors that I enjoy.

I have tried many many items(part of the fun) to finding what you like or what works for you.


Have you set a limit for whatever reason, big or small, to the size of your den?

I never considered a den limit but given the number of blades, razors and variety of soaps I have, I probably should have.

I was looking at some brushes online and my wife came by and asked why I was looking at those...I had a brush already.

She figures one razor, one brush should be fine.
Man...am I going to get into some trouble!

Right now I have

1 DE
3 Straights
1 brush
1 soap
3 creams
1 aftershave

I've firmly decided that I'm not going to buy more hardware. I'm also not going to buy anymore soaps or creams till I finish what I have. Ideally, once I've finished what I've got, I plan to have only one soap or cream at any given time.

I have a limit of when it starts to look cluttered I get rid of stuff.... that has happened 3 times in 8 months It is getting to that point again already....

I have been granted one end of one shelf in the hallowed bathroom cabinet. If I can fit it in I have space. No more room, no more acquisitions till the herd has been thinned.

I'm planning to slim down. I'm not going to set a limit, but I am going to offload a bunch of unused stuff. I'm content with the gear and don't want to end up with a collection for the sake of a collection.

Anybody that reaches their limits and just needs to get rid of stuff can send it to me.

My personal limit is my house. As long as I can stack stuff up somewhere and still have a trail to walk into every room I'm good. Once I can't get into a room I will stop.

Is infinite a limit?

It most certainty is. Actually in math (my major) it is much more likely a function goes off to infinity then actually converges to a finite limit.

I'm going to try and limit any one class of item at 7, one for every day of the week. I think I'm going to shoot for 3 good straights, 4 DE razors, 1 DE blade (I'm still working on finding it), and limit me to 7 combined soaps/creams.

Soaps/Creams definitely in that 7:

Others that are in the running:

Palmolive stick
TAOS cream

And, SBAD hasn't hit me. I have one that I really like, and don't see me being a guy that has dozens, or even a half dozen.

AH, 7 , one for every day of the week, (I like that) I may have to drop my aftershaves and up my soaps. The razor's, well, 7 x 2 for now

I tried to for a while and then I thought, why should I wait to but what I want when I can buy it now! I do however try to use products that I am not going to buy again more than others. I get rid of substandard creams by using them as stubble softeners during prep.
