Has anyone ever heard of a Detroit Special? (straight razor)

I found this gem at a garage sale for 5$ and have been unsuccessful in finding any info on it other than what the blade states. Any additional info would help. I would like to know the year, and a value if possible. It looks to be in great shape, and it looks like its never been used. I currently shave with a Gillette M2 adjustable DE and I'm wondering if this is a good straight to start out with. Thanks in advance!

I was thinking more along the lines of a .38 special but with more firepower, but I grew up outside Detroit...

There is obviously a particular song you must blast in the shave den when using that razor:
