What's new

Happy New Pen!

Happy New Year B&B! To celebrate the New Year in The Nib I am giving away a two Pilot Metropolitan (M nib) with some ink samples. This is open to all members world wide and will close January 5, 2013 at 10:30 pm est. The only rule is that you will not sell the pens if you do not like it, please pass it on to someone else.
To enter, post "I'm in" and tell us something you hope to accomplish in the New Year. It does not have to be pen related or shaving related, but can be.
Good luck and have fun!

I'm in, Dave! Thanks for offering this PIF.
In 2013, I hope to do the following things (listed in order of least to most significant):
1. clean my office (it really is a disaster)
2. sell off (and PIF) a bunch of unused things related to my hobbies (it is time for me to streamline and for others to get some enjoyment out of stuff that I've enjoyed and have set aside)
3. engage in continuous improvement at work (I'm a teacher at a community college. The continuous state of change of students and their circumstances requires continuous self-examination to be consistently effective.)
4. concentrate on being a good husband and father (married 19 years; 14 yr old daughter and 6 yr old son; #3 above applies even more so here!)

Happy New Year!

I'm in! I never had an interest in FP's until I wandered into the NIB one day. Since then I have been watching videos and spending a lot of time doing research. Whether I win or not, my resolution is to scratch this FP itch I have.

Dave; Thank you for the generosity and the opportunity.

Dave! Once again, your generosity is on display. I can guarantee that either I will love this pen, or my wife will (she had never written with an FP until she grabbed my preppy to make a grocery list. I wasn't sure I'd ever get it back).

This year I hope to kick LOTH enabling into high gear.

Not in, as I have this very pen in my mailbox waiting for me to get home. Just a thanks for the generosity and enabling of others. :)

I'm in - very generous PIF.

One of my goals is to ramp up our retirement savings this year. I have plenty of years of work to go, but still recognize the need to keep the focus.

I'm in. Thanks, Dave! One of my goals for the year is to keep on writing. I started a blog because I love to write; didn't update it often until late this year.

Happy Hollerdaze, Dave! .... and upcoming Happy New Year!
Please count me in.

In 2013, I hope to:
1) NOT post this in the 2013 Shave Sabbatical (other than as a practice post!)
proxy.php

2) Try to maintain my massive bulk (145lbs) and see if I can start working out again
and last, but definitely not least.....
3) Be a better person, especially to SWMBO

I'm in. I am just getting started into fountain pens... I hope to improve my handwriting this year, both cursive and print. Thank you for your generosity. Happy New year and may the new year bring you and all fellow B&B' rs Joy, Peace, and Prosperity!

I'm in! I know it's stupid, but I hope to eat breakfast at home in 2013 instead of stopping somewhere on the way to work.

Ideas that can help...

you can made french toast ahead of time, keep them in the fridge (or freezer), then just put them in your regular toaster in the morning to reheat. Cheaper and way better quality ingredients than pre-made store bought stuff. Depending on how well you bake, make your own stuffed breakfast breads ahead of time and just reheat it fast in the morning, or even take it to work and reheat it there for breakfast. No matter how you do it, the key is to find ways to make the food when you have some time and aren't rushed, instead of in the morning where you are way more likely to just give in and go the easy route of buying food on the way.

Good luck!

I'm in. I just learned of this pen today over at FPN. Looks and sounds very attractive. In 2013 I hope to build a larger clientele base. (Tough starting out as a barber.)
