I'm not usually the kind of guy to do this. I'm actually more the guy to irresponsibly form opinions of those people who do it but I did something today.
This morning I was rocking the baby and watching the morning news. The news anchor mentioned the VFW or local American Legion was going to give a demonstration today on how to properly dispose of an un-serviceable flag. I thought, "very nice, the perfect day to bring attention to flag etiquette". Then I nearly spit out my coffee when he said the flag burning will take place at 2 o'clock. I thought for a minute and promptly emailed the news station, informing them of the difference between a Flag BURNING ceremony and a Flag Retirement Ceremony.
Now, to the news anchors credit, and I do actually like this gentleman, and he emailed me back by the time I arrived at work. I didn't expect to get a reply as I'm sure they have people contact them all the time with criticism and non-sense. He thanked me for pointing it out to him so he could correct it on the other broadcasts that morning he would be discussing it.
