Nice!! Yup. That's why I do it at least. After almost 2 years of shaving with a straight I'm still amazed at how nice my shaves are.

I had an awful shave today. Tried a Gillette red pack stainless NOS (I think) blade for the first time, mis-matched the razor, still wincing from the BBS, back to the drawing board tomorrow.

I had the best shave ever a few days ago. I honed a Roma 66 razor (don't know a thing about it except I think is is sheffield) on a JNAT with Nagura progression-WOW. After the first pass I actually stopped and looked at the blade and face just to check whiskers were off. I did not feel a thing, not the cutting, not the blade on the face. I would take 100% edges just like that for the rest of my life. Of course next razor I honed was crap.
