H.I.S brush - how do you use it?

This brush and is like no other: springly backbone, very dense, very soft tips and retains a ton of water. Well.. maybe there are others like it (what do I know...)

Since it retains so much water I was wondering: how do you use it with your favorite soap/cream?

Cheers,

Erez

Thanks!
I noticed that it takes a bit of time to work up the (face) lather but once it picks up it really picks up.
Cheers,

I mashed mine down for several minutes to tame the backbone and I like it better. Before, it took effort to mash it onto my face. Now it's much easier and feels more like a badger.

Marco's method works well with this brush, but I usually have to give the brush a gentle squeeze to release some of the water this beast holds or I end up with too much water. But after that nothing but pure face lather explosion!

I usually squeeze out as much water as I can before I start lathering in the bowl, then add water slowly during the lathering process. I don't have very long load times on soap, and very little cream usage (half of normal, I guess).

I also mash this thing pretty hard into the bowl while lathering and it has withstood all that I've thrown at it without shedding one hair. This is a tough brush!

My first use was with Fitness Soap in a mug. It made enough lather for 4 1/2 thick face passes (2 of them I simply wiped off because I had finished face shaving). Then it made 2 full head shave passes with thick lather and then I was able to squeeze the brush and get a larger wad of lather at the finger and thumb. This was made with one dip into water with a three shake to reduce moisture and only 2 squirls in the soap. No additional water or soap was used.

I have found that for face lathering, I dip the brush half way into water, shake a little bit then begin to work the soap on the face and dip into water slightly to allow lather to build. I can usually get three face lather passes and a head lather pass without reloading.
