Guys using Dickinsons instead of Thayers?

I was a Thayers guy until I saw Dickinson's at Wally. I like Dickinson's better because my face does not feel tacky after it dries. I am officially a Dickinson's guy! I use witch hazel for post shave healing.

I couldn't actually get Thayers at the time and so far I like Dickenson's although the witch hazel smell is challenging shall we say. But it does feel great and dries clean as Kyle said. MY next WH will be Thayer's purely as I am back in Singapore and its the only one available so will compare the two.

I started out using Thayers but now use only Dickinsons because it's cheaper and I believe contains more witch hazel (that was my impreesipn after reading the ingredients on the labels). I also like that it contains more alcohol than Thayers for the astringent quality that provides. Also it seems to do a better job of closing up any little nicks and weepers I might have after a shave.

I use Dickinson's because it's readily available locally whereas Thayer's is not. It also has the benefit of being half the price. The smell doesn't worry me and it dries off so much that I can use an aftershave if I want.

I don't know that I "prefer" it. It's readily available, the bottle is quite large, and it works. The only downside is the scent. You win some...you lose some.

I go one step further and buy the generic Witch Hazel, though I've used Dickinson's in the past.

Never felt a need to try Thayer's.

I usually go with Dickinsons, largely due to the fact that its much cheaper than Thayers. However, I keep a bottle of Thayer Alcohol Free WH around for when my skin is a little dry.

While I have three bottles of Thayers, I use more of the plain generic. I can use it alone, add or dilute aftershaves with it or scent it with EO.

I tried a sample of Thayers and didn't care for it as much as the generic WH myself, Dickensons is the same as generic. Anyway you ought to try both and see what you like better.

Isnt dickinsons a straight up witch hazel while thayers is WH plus something else?
Yes, pretty much. I think you're right. Thayers has various products, and the "witch hazel astringent" with aloe (and I think glycerin?) is what people are talking about here, a lot. I don't think it should even be called "witch hazel" to compare with Dickinsons or generic (Target) etc -- it's basically an AS splash, or a skin treatment which happens to be based in witch hazel.

I use Thayers at home, have almost used up a travel sized bottle of Dickinson's. On this face, Thayers wins, seems to smell & moisturize better, and will be used to refill the Dick bottle. Plus, Thayers is preferable because they don't sell in ChinawalMart,

I haven't used either yet, but when my generic WH runs out I'll buy Dickinson's. It's half the price and available at my local grocery store. I'm going to mix in some EO to cover over the WH smell.

They both come in varying mixtures. I bought Dickinson's three weeks ago, because the store was out of Thayers. The Dickinson's is now under the sink and will stay there. It feels thick and sticky on my face.

I've only used Dickenson's as it's the only witch hazel I can find in the stores.

Spiked mine with some menthol crystals. Feels great on my skin especially since summer is here.
