Just bought a bottle and wearing it today for the first time.

Smells like pencil lead. I get a little smoke and a little amber, but man, that pencil lead note is strong. Too strong for me.

Anyone else have this experience? I know quite a few folks love this scent, and being discontinued an all, but wow, not for me.

Before you trade, and or try to sell this fragrance, I don't know how you applied. If you sprayed from a short distance from your skin, you may have gotten too heavy of a concentration in one or two areas. This will lead to the effect which you have just described. Just for the hell of it give this one more wearing in a few days. When you apply Mist from an arms distance, just let a fine mist hit your skin, and probably no more than perhaps two sprays. See if this makes a difference. I made the same mistake you almost, no you do have to apply this fragrance very much like Knize Ten. Easy on the trigger, and let the mist cover a large area. Just a thought
