So I will keep my upper lip area clean shaved. Will have a goatee but just unsure should I shave my soul patch area or grow it out with the goatee?

That would depend on how long you want it to be and how fast your beard grows.
I have a goatee with soul patch, (prefer that look over shaving the soul patch). I grew out the goatee a while back and only shave it off maybe once a year if that. My wife prefers me with it on. Anywho, in regards to trimming, I use an electric trimmer to trim around the soal patch as it fills in, and only trim the goatee itself when you can feel the ends of the whiskers becoming hard and scratchy. I then set MY electric trimmer to a #5 setting (each trimmer is different) and make it all soft again. Best of luck to you!
I keep my facial hair pretty short, so I trim it once or twice a week with an electric trimmer. But I second DFSDAILY's comments.

I have the same thing, and I've tried it both ways. For me, it looks way better with the patch. Everyone is different. See how you feel with it, and if you don't like it, shave it. If you don't like that, don't worry. It'll grow back in no time.
