Growing a beard.

I have decided to take a break from shaving for a month or two so I can grow my first beard. Just wanted to know if anyone has face-lathered shaving soap to exfoliate their beard area instead of using beard shampoos. Does shaving soap dry out your beard?

Same here. When I had a full beard, i just used whatever I put on my head. But my shampoos all have conditioner in it so not too sure about shaving soaps

I use my shower soap, currently Pre de Provence, rinse well and rub in regular old hair conditioner, leave in for duration of shower, rinse out.

I use an every day beard soap while in the shower. I massage it into my face and beard then rinse completely. After towel drying my beard I apply beard oil. Both the soap and beard oil come from a company I work for called CanYouHandlebar. I used the stuff for three years before starting to work for them recently.

Both really help keep my beard hydrated, clean, and looking awesome.

my beard goes very fuzzy if i wash it too much, with any kinda soap directly upon it! so i'm down to washing it once every 2 weeks or so, maybe 3!!
but that being said, it gets watered everyday, when i bath or shower, but no matter what it gets a nice dose of oil and a good brush, daily
