I was suprised to see it locked as well. It had stayed pretty reasonable unless a bunch of posts have been deleted.
Thing is, porn is here to stay just like terrorism or pro sports lockouts. Consumers want this stuff and as long as folks desire it and are willing to pay...

Threads occasionally get locked preemptively...happened to me once on a history thread about WWII. I politely asked for it to be re-opened to continue the discussion.
From the Mods perspective, you have to kinda roll the dice on some threads. Others, you can pretty much see the writing on the wall. Not that topic's are taboos mind you...they would allow good, quality, gentlemenly discourse on about anything...
Problem is...with 30,000 members, statistically speaking you're bound to get one bad seed
