Good source for Merkur blades.

These blades are definatly the ones that agrees the best with my skin. They are very forgiving and keeps their edge very well.
I was wondering if anybody knows of a good and cheap source.

Blades: Merkur, Green 7 O'Clock and Derby.

I would seriously consider getting a sample pack from West Coast Shaving before fully committing to the Merkurs. The vast majority of members here are not satisfied with those blades. You can do better, and pay much less for blades than the Merkur DE's. If the blades you mentioned above are the only ones you've tried, you owe it to yourself to try some more blades. Merkur are also just about the most expensive blades you can buy.

+1, I should have suggested this as well.... my goof! This is sound advice.

I know of the samplepacks, great service of WCS to offer this. But I have allready tried Feather, Derby, 7 O'Clock and Merkur. laying out $31 more on a samplepack seems a bit too late for me now. Chances are that I will end up having to lay out another $30 on a 50 pack of Merkurs anyway.

The Merkurs gives me all I could want or ask of from a razorblade, they suit my skin perfectly. So really all I have to gain is maybe finding a cheaper brand that I like. Finding that cheaper brand will cost me a years worth of Merkurs and probably leave me with a lot more blades I'll not want to use.

Even if the Merkurs are expensive DE's, $0.60 pr blade is way WAY cheaper than my old mach 3's. I can get a years worth of Merkurs online, for just a little more than the price of 4 Mach 3 blades here in Norway :)

Amazing! This may be the first poster who likes Merkur blades!:w00t::biggrin1:

Good on you, sir. You definitely have thicker skin than I do.:thumbup1:

And theres no need for thick skin, because these are the smoothest blades I have tried :) My beard is not that coarse, so the blade does not need to be supersharp, it's way better that it's smooth, keeps it's egde well and lasts long, for me this is just what the Merkurs do:)

If you have coarse beard, I can very easliy understand that most of you guys don't like Merkurs. We are all different :)

The cheapest I have found is a 100 pack for $45 from West coast shaving, thank you for the link MedicBill.

It's good to hear that I'm not alone talibeard :)

Dude, seriously, don't commit to one blade yet. I made the mistake of buying 200 Bics about 4 months into my shave journey, and ended up giving them all away a few months later when I improved my technique and then went back to IPs.

Thank you for your consern GWYM :)
I will not totally commit to the Merkurs, I will research and buy a pack or two of blades now and then, when I buy other shavingstuff.
I have now ordered a 100 pack of Merkurs. They will last me at least a couple of years. I'll use that time to test other blades now and then. Even if I find a cheaper brand that works for me or my technique improves, I do believe that the Merkurs will still be excellent blades for my skin and beard, so it's not wasted money anyway i see it.

Big Fuzzy, Do you have a coarse beard? If you do, I can certainly understand that the Merkurs did not suit you. I have a fine grained beard. When I tried Feathers, they scraped of the top layer of my skin and cut of half my chin :) Derbys was just a little better, but still many nicks and razorburn.
