Good products with no Witch Hazel or Menthol?

So, I get a bad reaction from Witch Hazel, to the point where it can give me a rash. Menthol, I just don't really care for the cooling. I'm looking for good AS's without either of these ingredients. I prefer splashes, but I'm interested in balms/milks too. I was looking at Pashana and Musgo Real (balsam and splash), but it's hard to find ingredient lists. Any help would be appreciated.

I like TOBS Mr. Taylor's; in fact, it's my favorite aftershave. There's no witch hazel or menthol in it. Others you may want to try are DR Harris Sandalwood, TOBS Shaving Shop. These are all splashes.

Pinaud Lilac Vegetal contains neither menthol nor witch hazel, like all of the Pinaud products.

I'm curious, though. Do you get a rach from the WH only after a shave, or does it aggrivate your skin even "pre-shave" ? I wonder if it might be the alcohol that is giving you problems. More investigation might be called for.

Hm...if your skin reacts to witch hazel, I would think you'd also get some kind of reaction from using a heavily fragranced aftershave like Pashana (IMO, YMMV, etc.)

I do think that D. R. Harris Pink aftershave meets your criteria, however. I don;t have the ingredients in front of me, but it is basically water, natural fragrance (rose), a small % of alcohol, and a mild antiseptic.

Thanks for the responses. I've used Witch Hazel at night just for cleaning and I get the same results as after shaving, so I am pretty sure the product is the problem. It was Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel that gave me a full-on rash. I've got SCS Bay Rum with a Twist AS Milk that has WH and it burns, but I can use it once a week and not get a visible reaction (but it feels rough). I've used Dickensons WH and it burned a little, but mostly it was the smell I hated. So, rather than subject myself to Russian Roulette with products containing WH, I'm looking for products that simply don't have it.

I'm using Pinaud currently, with Clubman and Citrus Musk being my two faves. They work pretty well, but nothing great. I also use the AS from Gentlemens Best, which has menthol, but I can tolerate a little bit on occasion. I'll check out D.R. Harris and TOBS. Another one that looks interesting is Citrocol (I'm a sucker for lime), but again it's a gamble without seeing an ingredient list.

You could try sending an email to online vendors asking them for the ingredients to specific products; most vendors are quite helpful with this sort of thing. Another option would be going to the product's webpage and checking the ingredients there ... if listed. In general, most aftershaves do not have witch hazel, but many do contain menthol, however, the majority out there don't.
