Goldtone Blades

So, in a PIF I received some time ago, there was an old package of 80 Goldtone blades. Anyone heard of them or know what they're like? I'm hesitant to open them, since it is still in the original packaging. No picture for now, because it's late and I don't feel like doing the work, but I thought I'd see if the name rings a bell for anyone. Collector's item? Usable?

I have some. Probably from the 1950s. I tried one and managed to coax an acceptable shave out of it. Compared to other vintage carbon steel blades I have tried it is significantly better. Mine says "Rust Resistant" on the package which could mean that it is made from stainless steel or it could mean that there is some kind of coating on the blade.

Final verdict...usable but nowhere near as smooth and sharp as any stainless steel blade from the 60s onward.
