Gillette Spoiler blades, why the name spoiler?

Ok, I've got some of these, I'm sure you do too.
Tell me why Gillette called them "the spoiler"

Here's all I can come up with:
1. They Spoil all other baldes for you (I think that's the closest)
2. They Spoil your shave (why whould I want that?!?)
3. They Spoil quicker than other blades (ie. they don't last as long)
4. They offer some kind of aerodynamics that Gillette isn't telling us about.
5. They cause your razor to somehow become unusable, thus they truly are "the spoiler"

Does anyone know?
I'm pretty sure that #1 is right.
Someone please confirm.

A spoiled child is one who has been given all that they could possibly want and more. The person giving that is the person who spoiled the child, or the spoiler.
The Gillette blades were the "Spoilers" because they spoiled you.

I believe they were first called Gillette Super Stainless blades and then some time later Gillette added the Spoiler name. Either way, they are both the same blade are the best and longest lasting blades Gillette ever made. Many people wish they still made them today!

i wonder if the tag "Spoiler" had something to do with the competitive battle against Wilkinson Sword and Schick at the time.
Gillette was a bit late to the stainless steel party and had some marketing catching up to do.
