Gillette Slim Adjustable Blade Gap Problem

I just purchased a Gillette Slim Adjustable and it looks like the blade gap on one side of the razor is smaller than the other. I took a small piece of paper and sliced it against the blade and can confirm that the blade is off a little bit. Can any one give me some pointers on how to realign the slim?

I tried shaving with it as is and it doesn't feel like it's shaving smoothly. Should I just keep it the way it is and not mess with trying to fix it? Thanks.

PS - I tried the pushing the doors with a flat head screwdriver (like in one of the articles I search) but it didn't change a thing.

How would I safely do that? Pliers or pressing against a hard surface?

First, be certain that is what's needed (fix what is wrong, no need to speculate, just carefully examine it and diagnose the problem). If that's it, here's a guide to work from...

BTW, do you have a link to the post that suggested pushing the doors with a flat head screwdriver?

Ah, quite right. I should know better, having run across a red tip with a blade gap issue that was NOT the safety bar. It was that bar that holds the blade... the rod it connects to was somehow bent. How on earth that could happen is beyond me, but there it was.
