Gillette Silver Blue Vs. Astra SS

From what I understand the Silver Blue's and Astra SS's are made in the same plan in St. Petersburg - or they were, rather, because the Silver blues were discontinued.

The Sliver Blues are my blade of choice and I'm looking for an alternative. Astra SP were my favorite blades until I discovered the Silver Blues which is a way superior bade IMO. But is the Astra SS different from the SP and the same blade as the Silver Blue as I've read online?

You are in luck if you are looking to purchase Gillette Silver Blues. My understanding is Gillette Silver Blues have been discontinued. Fortunately they are still available for purchase at a reasonable price.

Astra SS and Astra SP are different blades. I have used Astra SS, Astra SP and Gillette Silver Blues. I find them to be different blades and I prefer the Gillette Silver Blues. YMMV

Tons of blades are made in the same plant. If you're just looking for another blade made in the same plant as Astras and SBs there are 7 OC Yellows, and 7 OC Blues, and Sputniks, and Gillette RUbies and Platinums, and Super Silvers and SIs, and some Polsilvers, and ...

Astra SS are certainly pretty good. Silver Blues feel a lot sharper than Astra to me though. In my experience, the 7o'clock blue is the most similar and Polsilver SI are as sharp but smoother than either of them.

The Astra SS is NOT the same blade as a GSB.
