I found this in an antique store in San Carlos. They didn't have much shaving stuff, but they had this and a Robuso straight that I'll post pictures of later. Anyway, this New Razor looks new. Anyone know if these are made from brass and if there is any kind of coating I need to be careful of?

They are plated brass, with a gold finish. That one is a total beauty. That handle has a design flaw, which causes it to develop cracks over time; quite rare to see one without cracks.
Yes, they are brass, thinly plated with gold, and then lacquered. The lacquer often acquires a reddish tint as it ages. Be careful cleaning these. Both the lacquer and the gold plating are thin and can be worn away even with mild polishes.
