Gillette Diplomat without date code ?

The logic tell me that's a Diplomat but there isn't any date code on it. I thought they had been manufactured between 53-56 only.

I have one with an anomalous C date code, but I don't know that I've seen instances of ones with no date code. Is there any chance it could be covered with a bit of the residual shaving cream gunk?

If memory serves me correctly, a couple of guys have seen this before . . . sort of an odd-ball Aristocrat.

Does the center bar have notches? What is written inside the head - Package or Pkg?
