Why does it seem that the cracked handle in the tech, new, and tuckway is an often appearance. Ive been looking to buy one but they all seem to have cracked handles when in overall good condition?

It's just the nature of the beast. Bad design, manufacturing, and age. I do not believe I have seen an "un cracked" handle in the flesh. I am sure they are out there, I just have not come across one. Thought I did but when I cleaned it up and looked real close there was a hair line crack at the top. Oh well. It is the excitement of the chase after all (or so I keep telling myself).
My Old Type has a small crack in the handle. It doesn't affect the shave and the handle doesn't fall apart. I also didn't pay an arm and a leg for it. Having said that, I probably would pay extra for a razor from that era with a crack free handle.
Clean it good and shave with it. It will at last YOU!
