Gillette adjustables

So about a month ago I bought two Gillette adjustable off eBay. One is a fatboy and and the other a black handled slim. After a month of using the fatboy I finally loaded the slim and gave it a go. I think the slim worked much better for me. The number settings for the slim were way different compare to the fatboy. The slim was more forgiving too. Not a nick. Anyone else have results like this between the two?

Anytime I use a longer handle shaver compared to a short handle, I seem to get a different shave. They could have the exact same blade exposure and blade for that fact, but I get a slightly different shave. I learned on a longer handle, so it's up and down for me when I use a shorter handle razor. I have a fatboy that I cannot go past 4 on, but on a black handle slim I can go much further up on the exposure...

I have two Slim Adjustables and the guards are out of whack on one of them leading to uneven blade exposure. Going to shave with the other one for the first time today.

In my razor buying days, (Can't think about that or I will start buying again) I came across one black adjustable slim and had tons of fatboys. I made the mistake of giving my slim away without using it and now I'm really regretting it. The killer thing is, I know that it's not being used at all... I always heard that the slims gave a lot milder shave than fatboys. Maybe I will stumble across one sometime and the AD's will get me in their grasp once again...

I have A Fatboy, a Slim and a Black Beauty SA and I like the Fatboy the least (no offense to those who love the FB, it is still a cool razor and I am happy that I have it in my collection). The Slim and the SA shave almost the same to me but I think the SA might shave just a bit smoother than the Slim. Of course - YMMV :biggrin1:

Thanks for all the input here guys. I'm looking forward to shaving with the slim and getting the same results. I'm still working on my routine and perfecting it.
