Getting ready for my first reknot, thinking about a 30mm TGN

So, I have this handle I picked up. It measure 29mm across, and gets a little wider below the lip. I was thinking of getting a 30mm knot. I just want to know what people think of such a large knot. What are your experiences using it? What loft would you put it?

I have a Grosvenor mixed hair right now, I think it is 21mm. I shave my head and face every day. I face lather, and I use sticks and soap pucks 95% of the time. I don't care for much scritch. Am I going to like that big of a brush? I would like to lather once when using a puck, as opposed to the lather, shave the face, pickup some more soap, and lather the head.

Please suggestions are welcome. I am only a year and a half in, and this would be my third brush. I gave my Tweezerman away, and have been using the Grosvenor for a year now.

Thanks!

I was toying with the idea of doing a re-knot at this size just a few weeks ago. Although I decided against it as it would have been a REALLY BIG BRUSH, I am still contemplating building one, one day if I can find the right handle for it.

but 30mm would be a very big bloom, indeed. Good luck!

I turned a custom handle out of cherry burl and put a 30mm in it. In reality it's too big, but sure is pretty.

The handle is a chrome covered plastic. I think it is an Omega Pro 48 handle with the knot ring out. Jeff, what loft did you set yours at? I read somewhere that 50mm is a good loft for the TGM finest 30mm. I am probably going to order it this weekend sometime. I figured I would set in silicon, and if I liked it I would bust the handle, and reknot it in some corion I plan to turn if I ever get the time.

I have ordered the knot, and should have it tomorrow according to the post office. Yeah!!

What loft should I set it at?
