I have been reading that this scent from Gendarme is the same scent as the original but with double the essential oils. This would lead me to believe that it is the same scent with longer staying power - is this correct? It is also being marketed to women - any ideas? opinions?

I have samples of just about all the gendarme products (except for the sin line) and have owned classic, 20, and grabazzi.
I definitely think that Carriere is nearly the same if not the same as classic, of course with the higher concentration. They have recently released the more potent version of the classic gendarme, and I suspect that it might be the same thing as Carriere, but packaged for men. From what I remember, Carriere's bottle isn't particularly feminine, though.
Some people say that Gendarme 20 consists of a 20% ratio of perfume, and this may or may not be true, but the thing that differentiates 20 from the others is it's great lavender topnote. Other than that, it's pretty much the same.
