Game 7 Pacers v. Heat

Many consider game 7's the most exiting sporting events. Miami had a great year, but the Pacers have played them tough. Although Lebron may be the best player in the NBA, the rest of the Heat have been far from their best this series.

Since Lebron and Dwayne Wade fake-coughed into their jerseys against the Mavs (making fun of a sick Dirk Nowitzki- classy) I consistently root for their opponent- and tonight is no exception.

What say you, my B&B friends?

I went to school with LBJ so while I understand why you are rooting for Indiana I am gonna root for ole LBJ. I really wish he would have stayed in Cleveland though. I do think its funny how all the commentators are talking about how Miami is going to be just like Cleveland cuz bosh stinks and wade is past his prime...maybe he will come back to Cleveland?

Labron is a beast, and basically unstoppable. Rooting for the Heat, for me, is like rooting for the Yankees when they were in their prime.

as for returning to the Cavs- do they still have the same owner? That guy said some very inappropriate things post "the decision". Neither Florida nor Texas have state income tax. Could you imagine LBJ together with James Harden and Dwight Howard- holy crap

There's a hockey game on at the same time tonight, if tatball ain't to your liking. Go whomever is against The Miami sHeat, or version II of the Globetrotters. The NBA is fast becoming a second tier sport, with the flopping & the fact that they sit down half of the last half due to fouls & timeouts. Sad, it once was a decent sport, now not so much. Maybe I'll see the result in the am

From Miami. Rooting for the Heat! We just need the rest of the team to show up, and some points from the bench.

given your location, it only makes sense that you'd rather watch hockey :)

as for the flopping- it is ridiculous and really takes away from the flow of the game. The $5k fine is far from a deterrent. I can't imagine Dr. J, Bird or Shaq flopping.

if Chalmers and bird man show up (in addition to the rest of the big 3) I think it's the heats game to lose.

Go Spurs.

Oh, wait :)

I used to enjoy basketball, maybe not the NBA as much as NCAA, but as you point out the flow is gone. Step, "foul to give", commercial, foul shot, commercial, commercial, foul, twenty second time out, repeat - think that some of the public would realize they are getting milked?

apparently not.

Towards the end of the nba season, the Heat "stars" say out some games in an attempt to get healthy. Of course, tickets had already been purchased at sky-high prices and the family of 4 who had purchased tickets got hosed

Pacers fan here. But pro basketball ceased being a sport I cared anything about when Bird and Magic quit playing. Those were great rivalries. We had tickets to the kentucky Colonels when I was growing up and that was basketball. Dr. J in his prime was the best ticket in town.

LeBron has grown up A LOT over the past two seasons. Both in his quality of play and his emotional maturity. I was the biggest LeBron hater for years, because he seemed so into himself with his "Chosen One" and "King James" tattoos, when he hadn't won anything; and his "I don't wanna take the last shot, I'm not MJ, I'm Magic!" mentality. But he's so incredibly dominant now and so much more focused. He's the most dominant male athlete in any sport in the United States. I don't know that I'm a fan, but I have tremendous respect for him.

There has been a lot of talk about him going back to Cleveland. I do think that all of that talk is neglecting that the Cavs' owner went insane when LeBron left. It would be the ultimate way to redeem himself with his home city and it would be almost Shakespearean (the native hero who defected and then returned home a champion), but the Dan Gilbert thing makes it awkward. Also, if Dwight leaves LA, or they let him leave, the Lakers are going to have a ton of money in 2014. Also, the Knicks, if LeBron shows interest and they opt for him over Carmelo.

This should be a great Finals match-up.

Real happy Allen got some 3's in. Wade played like the old Wade, looks like his knee is better. Birdman was just such a great acquisition. LBJ is ridiculous. He is arguably the best player in the league.

Congrats to the Heat for making it to the finals. The Pacers looked horrible and committed way too many turnovers to have a chance. Hibbert was non-existent in the 1st half. I do hope that with Danny Granger back next year, the Pacers return to the finals (not that I care, as I'm from Philly).

I definitely agree about LBJ, and its hard to argue otherwise. Wade just looks old, and the Heat in general seem like a bunch of whiners. Flopping, looking for uncalled fouls and otherwise appearing to be a bunch of spoiled grown men accustomed to having their way.

the Spurs have the size and experience, and certainly had plenty of rest (hopefully not rust). This has the makings of a good series, but who knows.

Arguably? LeBron is unquestionably the best player in the league. Nobody else is anywhere close. He's unbelievable on both ends. He could win the scoring title if he wanted to. Yeah, I can't think of anyone else I would even consider being better than him.

I'm definitely not going to argue with you about that one. Not anyone playing these days.
