Even though I am a DE shaver, I love the Schick G series, partly because my dad used one, and partly because I like their looks. So I have acquired more than...well more than 3.
A couple months back, I found a G66 on eBay. It was beautiful. I liked it so much, I decided to carry it with me on my frequent trips as a backup, for buffing, and for general clean up.
So last week I was in New Jersey, and I left my hotel room without it. In all my travels, I have yet to stay in an hotel where they actually returned something I left behind. But this was a special case and I hounded them. No luck.
I had only ever seen that one G66 at eBay, although I don't visit often, trying to control my RAD. After my third call to the hotel, (Now I was in Chicago), I went to eBay, beginning what I thought would be a long search...but lo and behold, there was a G66 that looked to be in great shape. Almost 4 days left for the bidding, I put mine in and hoped. As much as I love these razors, I still had what I consider a sane limit.
And...I just won. My new G66 should be waiting for me when I return from this eternal trip on July 3rd.
A vow, I will never risk my G66 again. One of my regular G Injectors will go with me instead (My DE is a Weber PH. If I leave that behind you can just go ahead and lock me up.).
