G-shock alternative

I love G-shock watches but the only ones that aren't obnoxiously large are strictly digital. Is there a tough alternative to G-shocks that are not so big but still have analog dials? I don't mind if it's the analog/digital combo, but just not straight digital. I looked at the baby-g watches but they all look a little too feminine for my taste.

I should mention that it has to have an alarm. I don't need it to be able to withstand a nuclear blast, but it needs to be pretty tough and not too big. I was looking at the Citizen Nighthawk but I don't know if I can treat myself that much. It's expensive.

These are not likely what you are after but have you looked into the Armitron or Timex TX (not sure it has an alarm) series? Otherwise I might recommend relying on a mobile phone for the alarm function so that you have a wider selection of watches to choose from.

Only thing remotely close in toughness I've found without paying a huge amount is the Timex Ironman (NOT the Expedition series).

Marathon MSAR watches are analog, originally intended for military pilots IIRC, but do not have an alarm i'm aware of. They are incredibly tough. Also expensive....

I've been looking at watches obsessively for a whole week and I have NO idea how I missed this last one. It's exactly what I'm looking for. The other G-shocks look great, but I'm 5'4" and anything that big looks HUGE on me, plus it's uncomfortable on my small wrist. I'll be buying this watch today.
