What's new

Free honing to one member

Ok, so I'll pick one member's blade to hone for free (I'll cover return shipping cost also)

Rules:
1.) You must know how to straight shave.
2.) You must not be able to hone yourself (new to honing is fine)
3.) You must post a pic of what you want me to hone.

To enter, just indicate your interest and post the blade tonight. I'll randomly select the member tonight or tomorrow morning.

Nice offer David!

This is a pretty awesome PIF. For those that might be on the fence, Obiwan's edges are buttery smooth and light sabre sharp. Pun totally intended. Congrats to the winner!

1) I can shave
2) I have not yet tried to hone, I have a slab of marble, but no lapping film
3) Hoffman Image, 4/8 it has a very small chip close to the toe. I was gonna use it as my first hone, but...
regards,
Bil

Or, this is just a trick I do every so often to get free razors, lol.

Can everyone hear the sound of me rethinking this offer???

New to honing and I've successfully sharpened some razors to shave ready but none to shave comfortable. This one has me stumped:

A vintage French frameback with wood (Ebony?) handles. I've gotten it to where it cuts arm hair in one part, but never the entire length of the blade and when I try on the new coti I have, it just goes backwards in sharpness. I think it's bitter about an offhand comment I made about French Algeria.

If you consider me too far along, I won't be hurt; I'll be flattered.

I don't charge. Anytime I hone, it's for free.

Sticky info available. I'll try to post or PM links later (on phone now)

I got moves like Jagger
Dare I send my kamisori?
'Twas "razor" sharp when I bought if from Gamma, but not so much anymore. My honing-fu is around yellow belt status.
Just received a jnat, but haven't tried using it yet.

Time to use a marker.

Obiwan this is a great way to pick up a new razor-LOL

In all seriousness, David know his way around a coticule, his edges are amongst the best
