What's new

Found another one!

I picked up this razor for $15 dollars at a garage sale. It was cleaner looking than the first two razors I restored so I was willing to pay the extra money. Plus it came in the original cardboard box with some Gillette thin blades. I think it's a Gillette tech from 1940. It's cleaned up well' I had to take the lacquer off because. It was orange and chipping off. I found a new hobby! Friends tease me, saying its a weird hobby to have for being 26. I can't help myself here is something satisfying about restoring a razor that's older than you and then shaving with it :biggrin1:

Looking at the shape of the off centre holes, I think it's the late 40's type. It's the same as mine.

The best DE I have tried so far, it's such a smooth and effective razor.

My first razor was this one, and it's still my favorite. Mine was in just about as good condition with no case, though. AMAZING find. Enjoy!

I agree Joris, it's a very smooth razor. I can shave quick with it and still get great shave. What blades do you use in yours?

Great buy! Techs are my #1 razor--all four of them. Team that find with a SuperMax SP, ARKO soap, and a good boar or badger brush and you'll have DE shaving at its finest.

So far, it has worked great with everything I used in it: Derby, Croma Diamant, Rapira, Super Max Super Platinum.
