I really don't understand the hate for Windows 8.1. Yes, it took a couple of hours for me to figure my way around, but I have had no problems with it at all. I just went from Windows XP to 8.1 a couple months ago and I found the transition pretty easy. It is still Windows and still functions more or less the same.

Pretty much my experience so far using m wife's Windows 8 Asus ultrabook. Not nearly as bad as I had been led to believe.

If it were up to me I would keep XP or go to 8.1. However, my company won't support XP any longer either, which means our illustration system won't work. Also, our encryption programs don't play well with IE 10, so no 8.1 for me. They are working on making them mesh, but so far they just won't.

My company is trying to force us to upgrade every PC in the building to W7. Over half of the computers won't even run it. I have some programs too that won't run on W7. Its just a mess.
