What's new

For the fans of The Office...

Not exactly photography, but this is my work using my Wacom Tablet in Photoshop CS3. It's a little bit angsty and sappy, but let me know what you guys think anyway.

nice work and a great moment that epitemizes why the office works so well, and so much better than the uk version, the ability to change tones and emotions so quickly. i too like it btw.

From a purely pictoral standpoint, I like it alot. I think you did a great job with the colors, background and off setting characters.

From the standpoint of puting the TV show the office into a single picture, I think its tough to say...the TV show is so much more than their relationship!

I agree, but I have to confess that I'm a hopeless romantic, and I just got so caught up in the whole Jim/Pam relationship that it borders on obsession.

Might end up doing more work in this vein. Well see...

Thanks for the comments, gentlemen!

I started with a screencap from the DVD of the episode (Season Two, Ep 22 - Casino Night, for those interested) as a reference image.

I gave myself a solid 18%-grey background layer, then laid out a sketch layer on top of that, and then started building the colors for the figures below that, but on top of the background layer (of course).

This was different from the way I used to work, where I was a little less confident in my mark-making, and I used to separate EVERYTHING out into its own layer, so that I would have something like a dozen layers per image. This time I think I managed to keep it to three or four (I'd have to go back and dig out the PSD to be sure).

The abstracted background was really just an afterthought, thought I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks for looking!
