What's new

For baseball fans only.

It's my birthday in a couple of days and my wife couldnt wait to give me these:

They all came with COAs and they're all 8x10s, such a shame I cant frame them just yet as we're moving in a little over a month, but anyways, for you non Mets fans, the one with 3 dudes is Doc Gooden, Darryl Strawberry and Mike Tyson; the one of a pitcher on the mound is Sid Fernandez and the guy fielding the ball with someone else on the foreground is Wally Backman.

Very nice present. Im sorry you have to struggle being a Mets fan though..

LETS GO YANKEES!!!

Niiice! I collected autographs for many years- back when guys answered via USPS! I have many letters from Hall of Famers- most of whom are now deceased. Back in my day COAs were unknown! Now, gotta have them!

Jets and Mets, you must love suffering! :biggrin1:

Lol, read below.

Yeah, but it makes it that much better when they win it all eventually (hopefully).

OMG, thats pretty much what I tell my family members and friends who are Yankee fans.

Nice! I am sorry you are a Mets fan, though

Lol, read above.

It's OK, some of the guys in those pics eventually played for the Yankees, and helped add to the unbelievable number of World Series Championships. You can keep Tyson.:biggrin1:

Lol, they're Mets at heart though.

Baseball is an amazing sport. Love it as well. Ah, when Mike Tyson used to be amazing...

Yes sir, if you're a Blue Jays fan and old enough, do you remember Joe Carter's HR in the 1993 WS? Thats one night Ive never forgotten, kinda like game 6 of last year's WS.

You know what, a buddy of mine who's also a Mets fans, came over to my house a couple of days ago when the wife gave me these and he kinda told me "Well, if she just bought them autographed, then they're not so special." I wasnt getting it at first but his point was that if I was to have the picture in hand and then met one those guys at the ballpark or whatever and had the pic signed, that then it'd me more special. He kinda has a point but what's your take on it? Im absolutely happy with my man cave pics though but felt he had a little point.

I'm not some hardcore collector, just got these and a couple of signed baseballs that some friends gave me years ago and I had googled them, for the sake googling I guess, and found out that some of the baseballs I have could be had for as little as $40, at the time I was like whatever, but now I feel as if my friend has a point.

Unfortunately I was only 3 and 4 when we won back to back in 92-93 so couldn't witness it live. I have watched the replay COUNTLESS times though:

"The winners and still world champions: The Toronto Blue Jays". Great call! Anyone who likes baseball here in Toronto know about Joe Carter's walk off HR!

Lets see how long we have to wait now lol.

Oh ok, it was a great moment in baseball imo, to say the least.

Gooden, Strawberry and Tyson playing grabass in the same pic. Surely Hall of Famers all. Good snag!

Great pics. I'm a Mets/Jets guy too. Much bigger baseball fan though. It's been a rough few years to be a Mets fan. It's part of it though. As a kid in the late 1970's and early 1980's, I rooted for some abysmal teams. Those years brought those great young players in your pics though and a ring. One of my great memories is attending the seventh game of the '86 series with my dad.

That's awesome, I was telling someone on here that I havent been to the new stadium (military) and I cant wait to go home during baseball season and go to citi field for the first time. I, too, have some memories from Shea stadium... btw u from kings or queens county?

BTW Jets lost to the squeelers today.
