Allen Edmonds penny loafers. These are my first pair of Allen Edmonds, and they're my oldest shoes. My dad started wearing Allen Edmonds in the early 1980s and I remember a visit to the original Shoe Bank near the old factory in Belgium, Wisconsin. These came from a tent sale in Port Washington, probably in the mid-to-late 1990s. They were worn regularly for several years and were recrafted in Port Washington at least once, and possibly twice. They've sat out COVID, but putting them again reminds me why they are a long-time favorite. The leather still looks great!
I was surprised to see that Pediwear is closing their doors. Great prices and great service but after 46 years in business, I guess they decided to call it a day. Too bad.
Along with quite a few Saphir products, I purchased this pair of Luther playboy chukkas from them in 2021.
