Florida Water

I just received a bottle of Florida Water. I thought it was A/S, but it says cologne on the bottle. It doesn't smell strong as most colognes do.Did I order the wrong thing? Do they make A/S and cologne? Could I go ahead and use this as an A/S?

When I ordered some Pinuad Citrus Musk and Lime Sec, both were described as "colognes" as well. From personal experience, both of their scents DO NOT last long at all. I think a lot of gents here do use the Florida water as an AS.

You've got the right stuff. The scent is fleeting, but sometimes you will catch a sniff of it later in the day.

To me Florida Water is exactly what it says it is; a toilette water. These types of products were designed to be added to bathing water and on the body afterward in copious amounts. They were meant to be refreshing and astringent and not necessarily as an aftershave. I tried it after a shave and it was pretty rough in the burn department. I LOVE the scent though. Much more than the typical Eau de Cologne scents. They are lemon forward whereas Florida Water is more orange up front and not as 'dry' to the nose. Enjoy it for what it is and don't be afraid to apply it liberally over the body. But approach the shaved beard area with caution.

Cheers, Todd

I use it in the warm months as an aftershave, test first on your skin, I find it to be great warm-summer stuff. Finding it is the problem usually

Like Osage Rub it is a tonic/splash meant for multi-purpose medicinal applications.

Superior 7O Bay Rum, the regular and mentholated versions, are used in Puerto Rico for everything from mosquito bites to a sore muscle rub.

Phog Allen nailed it.

Here in Florida for the summer, I use it as an A/S. Plus sunscreen as the balm. Followed by Deet as a long-lasting cologne.

I use it as an aftershave. Love it. Clean and Mild aftershave burn (I could use more burn though). Its citrus scent is nice and fairly strong right after application, but mellows very fast. I wish it would stay around longer, but would rather it be mellow early and fade, than be too strong early and stay around (and prol be too strong too long).

Dirt cheap too!

I think ML Florida Water is a light cologne splash. Definitely NOT an aftershave. The scent is wonderful, lasts only a couple hours, but you will smell mighty fine for those two hours! I would be shocked if you don't like the product as a splash lotion. Hey CT, how about an update on your Master aftershave experience? Been thinking of springing for the Jade and the Focus, but I don't have a good take on how they smell and how they treat freshly shaven skin. I got kinda caught up in Master lotions this summer, just want more knowledge before I decide on purchasing the Jade and Focus. Master stuff ROCKS!!
