Florida Water

Tried Florida Water for the first time yesterday and again this morning. A local grocer sells it for $1.57 a bottle. I love the first citrus notes, but the cinnamon seems pretty heavy and that's what lingers. I feel like I smell like I've been chewing Big Red all day. Not altogether unpleasant, just... different.

I also bought a Crystal deodorant to use as an Alum block... it's ingredients list only included ammonium alum. Is that the same thing as an alum block?

Aluminum alum is often used for underarm deodorants, and some people use them as aftershave astringents/antisceptics, but aluminum alum stings more, and I'd suggest sticking with potassium alum, which is what the large majority of aftershave alum bars are made of. It's stingly good -- the less irritation, weepers, nicks, the less it stings, and simply feels like it's tightening your skin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alum

Just recently tried some myself. Not a huge fan of using it as an AS splash, but I can see how it would be a great hot weather soothing agent. During summertime I will use this when doing yard work. Similar to how the baseball teams use them. I would rather use a different scent for AS, but the effects are nice.
