Florida Water is great stuff

Gentlemen,

I finally got around to buying some Florida Water by Murray and Lanman. This stuff is great! Nice citrus top that fades to spice. It is kind of like a citrusy Bay Rum without the bay. It fades fairly quickly so I can apply liberally, which I like.

Oh and it is cheap (~ $7.00) and comes in a cool glass bottle.

My local CVS carries the Murray and Lanman's Florida water in plastic bottles (tucked in the ethnic preparations section). Would much prefer the glass bottles.

If the scent lasted, it would be a true high end product. It sells for around two bucks in these parts.

I noticed Krogers started carrying it. Really cheap--the 7 ounce bottles are something like $2.

It's in the ethnic section by the showering things/soaps, not by shaving items.

They also carry that orange blossom cologne--not the M&L, it's Sampson or something like that. A little too sweet for me.

I like Florida Water, but it's primary usage for me was scenting hankies. It's been bumped off by 4711 in that regard.

And Florida Water was the first cologne I could really pick up individual notes on. For instance, now I really smell the cinnamon/clove base after the citrus-y headnotes fade away

Along with the Florida Water, I've been interested in trying Kananga Water..

The Kananga Water is based on ylangylang...one of those love it or hate is scents. I love it my wife hates it. The Kananga has some serious legs, as does the Rose and Orange colognes from L&K. Luckily, the wife likes those. The L*K offerings are nothing fancy. IMHO, they are fine for weekends working in the yard and that kind of casual activity but not for the office.
