I just did my first straight razor shave. That blade looked tiny until I went to put it on my face. Used prorasso red and a ja henckels razor from whipped dog. Did a few passes on the right to get down to a little shadow. (started with 2 days growth) Left side ended a bit patchy with a bit of burn from chasing the whiskers on the left side of my chin. Had my merkur 34c riding shotgun for a final once over. Calling it a successful first training based on lack of blood and skin lost.

Congrats! It's not easy to pull off the first attempt with no bloodletting at all.

Tomorrow I tackle my first time with the strop. I have the poor mans strop that came with the razor. Been watching a lot of videos and reading. Time for the practical exercise. The one frustration I had shaving was figuring out how to see what I was doing in the mirror with my big hand in the way.
Good job. By the way I just do it mainly by feel on the "blind" side.
