What's new

First shave with the 1438 today.

I've had my 1438 for a few weeks now but today I had my first shave with it. It's been through several wet/dry cycles and a few lathers on some random soap I have laying around but it had never been on my face, until today. I face lathered Proraso and I was surprised at how rapidly the lather built with this brush. My 1305 takes a little longer to build the same lather. Even though it's no where near being fully broken in it held enough lather for three passes easily. I must say I like the handle on my 1305 better. I found the stubby handle on the 1438 made my hand a little uncomfortable.

I don't think this will knock my 1305 out of the top spot of my boars but it's a great brush and I'm glad I have one.

So you are saying that you would like one of these vintage Semogue 1550?

The one on the left has the same handle shape as the 1305/1250/etc and the one on the right the same handle of the Semogue 2000, but both have the 22x50mm knot of the Semogue 1550!
It's a great brush, but I prefer the Semogues 1470/1460, softer tips... softer everything as the 1438 has a different type hair and more backbone!
