First shave with adjustable

I picked up a Gillette long handle black adjustable off eBay and got it in yesterday. After a cleaning and a barbicde soak and a new Red Personna blade I decided to give it a go this evening. Started out on #3 for the first pass, turned it up to #5 for the second pass and then #7 for the third.

Boy oh boy was that a nice close shave. I really like the longer handle as it seems to give one more control. After using the long handle I think I'll look into getting a longer handle for my 89L.

Glad to here you are enjoying your adjustable. I just recieeved a Slim adjustable and after cleaning it up I took it for a spin. I started at setting 3 but that was too mild so for the next pass I cranked it up to 5 which was still to mild so for the ATG pass I went to 6. That still seemed mild but I finished. The shave wasn't great, not terrible, but not great. I think I was struggling with the angle , just couldn't seem to stay in the sweet spot. It seems to
shave very differently from my Merkurs and Red Tip. I will figure it out though.
I would be interested to hear if anybody has noticed that the Slim is quite differant than other razors or was it just my imagination, maybe I was just having a bad day.
