Today, #00358 arrived at my doorstep. I was tracking it from work, and absolutely could not wait until I got home to give it a try.
Pre-Shave routine was a hot shower, with a little bit of conditioner on my beard.
The shave consisted of my M+F 2XL, the TSN 2012 Bill Bowl #14, Acqua di Parma cream, and the new Tradere SB mated with a Polsilver Super Iridium blade.
The shave was fantastic, smooth, and clean. I performed a three pass shave. First with the grain, second across the grain, and third against the grain.
I have never had a BBS shave without any touchup. Today was a first. The razor seemed to glide over my face, and slash through my whiskers as if they were made of soft grass. At no time did I feel any irritation, or a sense of aggressiveness. It is fairly aggressive for a SB razor, but for me, it is perfect. It felt much more forgiving and smooth than my Tradere OC razor (although I find that one fantastic as well). It was more aggressive than my Ikon S3S, but just as smooth, and no touch up required. I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed this shave.
Edit* I did not mention that I much prefer the shorter new handle. It feels more natural, and has less leverage, a great balance of weight as well.
My post shave consisted of a warm wash, Razorock Alum, followed by a cold wash, and a splash of Floid Blue.
I can't wait for SWMBO to get home so she can run her hands across my face.
This razor, to me, is pure joy. I see this replacing many of my razors and earning a place as my favorite.
I'm considering this razor my "Ace".
