What's new

first restore progress

Here are some photos of two razors i am trying to restore. I recently gave them a bit of a polish to get the years of dirt off them. They were a mess when i got them. I have been using Norton 240 up until now, should i keep on with that or move to 320 now?
The black razor is a Johnathen Crooks? from England as far as i can make out, it has hollow full ground stamped on it which i would like to keep on the blade if i can. The cream one has no identifying features so i am wondering if i just keep working on it, get it shave ready and sell it on our local auction site? I am sorry I am not too good at taking photos.

From the looks of it you need to start down around 120-180 and move up. The trick to good hand sanding is gentle, light pressure and fresh paper. Only move up once all the previous scratches are gone.
Good luck!

I have never put paper with a greater grit than 240 on razors, the scratches it makes are to difficult to remove with paper.
