First order from Jas-eTea!

Been drinking tea for the past year or so at work. started with the tea bags from the grocery store, then upgraded to some stuff from Adagio. go back and forth between different types of teas. been liking my oolongs and blacks and pretty much everything else that i have tried. been doing my brewing in a cup with a little screen bucket at work.

A couple of days ago, i ordered a gaiwan, pu-erh sampler and Chun Mei green tea from Jas-eTea. Pretty excited to try pu-erh for the first time! been doing lots of reading on brewing lately so hopefully ready to go once i get it in. I also ordered some tea cups and an electronic kettle. my office doesnt have a sink, so trying to get an easy setup for work.

Will update after i have tried everything.

I had great success dealing with Steve at jas-e. Make sure to post your results in the SOTD thread in the cafe.

good luck, sounds like you plan to have a daily event. As you should! when you get serious about oolong you might try just-tea, a family owned plantation (taiwan).

I like Jas-e a lot and given their location and your location, you will get your order very quickly, nice to help out a local business too. Over time, I have gravitated towards the raw pu erhs. At first I tried ripe pu erh as a coffee replacement thinking it was stronger in caffeine but the taste turned me off. I think the raw pu erhs are outstanding, there is none of the overly grassy, astringent notes I get with some green teas.

i ordered a raw pu-erh sampler pack, pretty excited about it. something about the idea of ripe pu-erh that didnt sit well with me.

I did my first jas-eTea order about 3 weeks ago. No pu-erh, starting slowly but I ordered several greens and a couple of blacks. My first introduction to quality tea. I am totally impressed with the tea and this awesome vendor. (Nothing new, best vendors out there seem to be B&B members!)

If you are somewhat new to tea, I recommend signing up for his newsletters, in others words getting on the jas-etea.com mailing list. He does not spam your inbox too often and many of the postings are quite educational. There is is usually a embedded link or two that points to items he is promoting for sale on the website, but it is all done in good taste and in an informative way. A much better newsletter experience than the average retailer.
