I finally got around to using the stick of Arko I got a while back. It's not the best scented soap I have but far from a urinal puck I've heard described. I was running behind and washed and rubbed some on and wetted my WD Synthetic and went to town, lathered up and got a great shave, I think I'll keep it around.

its a great soap and smells like soap no pretense, i actually grate it with lanolin soaps
You may not approve of the scent (you can always leave it unwrapped until it dissipates, if the universe lasts long enough) but you can't argue with the results- great lather and a great shave.

Hey anyone know of an aftershave that pairs well with Arko, I used Clubman original this morning but SWMBO says the jury is still out on that combo?
I use Arko for my daily shaving routine. I don't recognize the issues with the way it smells. After opening the smell is a bit strong, but it gets less within a week. All you have left is a clean smell of soap. Nothing wrong with a clean smell I guess.
Besides it lathers great and costs almost nothing, so why spend a lot of money?

The more you use Arko, the more you realize what a good soap it is.
With Arko I like 4711: citrus on top of citrus. You might also try a bay rum, or Clubman vanilla.
