I had my first great shave today with my 1960 Fatboy (Red Israeli & TH Trafalgar). Up 'til now, it's been good but clearly inferior to what I've been getting from my 1963 Slim. The Slim has consistently been better, whether I'm doing a 2 1/2 pass shave all on 5 or cranking things up 5:wtg>7:xtg>9:atg.
From my recent antique shop score, I still have a 59 Fatboy and a 65 Slim to try, but it really seems as though the Slim is a superior shaving instrument, which quite sucks. If there's any razor in my newly acquired arsenal that I want desperately to love it's the Fatboys, so I'm glad to see them slowly coming around.
Out of curiosity, are there others who find the Slim to just be a better shave despite all the fatboy hype?
