firehouse brush question

I'm pretty sure the handles come in different sizes based on knot size and what you want (they're all individually made), so it would probably depend on the size of the actual handle

I thought it was bad for the brush to not hang it up after using it?

There has been a controversy about that point in the past here, with lots of research and experimentation for you to dig through in the archives if you're so inclined.

Short answer: although some brush manufacturers recommend the use of a stand, no one could prove conclusively that it was necessary, in either the short or the long run.

Shorter answer: whatever floats yer boat!:thumbup1:

Thanks John.I have two Firehouse brushes on the way and was wondering about storage.

can you get the firehouse handle customized like colour/s and shape? Does larry also set the knot for you?
thanks,
Alex

They are custom as far as choosing the color or colors of the handle. I don't think that you can customize the shape, but thats a question for larry. And yes, he sets the knot for you. Keep in mind, when you order one it will take about a month to get the brushes they are custom made by a potter friend of his. The wait is more than worth it though

so i got the stand that was recomended to me in one of the posts above. i will say that stand works perfectly! i was able to make the opening fit the brush like a glove, and it has more than enough weight to hold the brush and a razor. i would defintely suggest this stand to anyone that is getting a larger firehouse brush!
